My first remote control air plane toy was Aero Ace Biplane by Air Hogs which I bought for around $30 at Toys R Us. My son loves it and we both have lots of fun flying it. It runs on six AA batteries and the plane has on board battery that charges through connection to the control unit which carries the AA batteries for control as well as charging. A single charge gives about 10 minutes of flight time. Choose a day of the time that has less wind, so you may have better control on the plane.
